Workflows
A workflow is a question that spans several datasets, answered in one call. Data is the thirteen base sources we publish. These are what you get when they are joined on UEI, PIID, NAICS and agency, so you do not have to reconcile four schemas to ask one question.
Each section says what it joins, what you can do with it, and the tier. For endpoints, parameters and response shapes, see the API guide. Most are Pro at $39/mo.
Company Profile API
SAM registry + FPDS + FFATA
Combined SAM registration profile + award history per UEI in one call. Returns 200 for any SAM-registered firm, not just the ones that have won contracts. Award fields populate when the UEI has Award Notices on file; otherwise they zero out and the registration / entity blocks still populate.
What you can do with it
- Compliance + due diligence in one call (active, expiration, totals, top agencies, top NAICS)
- Customer concentration analysis via top_agencies
- Pipeline health checks (awards_last_90d vs awards_last_12mo)
- Capability mapping via top_naics (what they win, not what they claim)
- Peer / competitor discovery via /peers ranked by NAICS + agency overlap
Federal Contractor Search
SAM entity registry
Multi-filter search across the SAM directory by NAICS, state, business-type certification, active-status, and name. The DSBS replacement: SBA's Dynamic Small Business Search has the data but is web-only with no API. This endpoint exposes the same filtering programmatically. Pro adds SBA's authoritative small-for-NAICS determination (the naics_small filter) and per-firm verified SBA certifications with dates, via the sba_profile block.
What you can do with it
- Set-aside competition mapping before bidding an 8(a) or WOSB RFP
- Subcontractor sourcing by NAICS + state + cert combinations
- Procurement market sizing (pagination.total returns exact firm count)
- Diversity-spend reporting feeds for prime contractor compliance teams
- Sources Sought distribution lists for federal program offices
- Auto-generated long-tail directory pages on your own site
Renewal Radar
SAM entity registry
Active SAM registrations expiring within N days, sorted by urgency. Filter by state or NAICS. The renewal-monitoring use case: SAM registrations expire annually; lapsed registrations make a firm invisible to contracting officers and ineligible for award.
What you can do with it
- Compliance dashboards flagging subcontractors whose SAM lapses in N days
- Renewal-reminder SaaS with targeted email campaigns
- BD pipeline early-warning (a firm not renewing = opportunity for replacement)
- Renewal-services consulting lead generation by state + NAICS
- Internal supplier-onboarding workflow with quarterly check on approved suppliers
Vendor Risk API
SAM exclusions + FPDS + registry
7-signal screening per UEI. Beyond a single-UEI exclusion check: address-cluster, name-variant cluster, coordinated enforcement-wave membership, and last-award-to-debarment timing analysis. Plus a triage verdict for fast classification.
What you can do with it
- Subcontractor vetting workflows for prime contractors
- Bulk vendor screening (POST up to 100 UEIs per request)
- "Why is this risky" explanations: each signal returns underlying records
- Pattern-detection dashboards (DLA enforcement waves)
- Compliance reports for FAR-driven supplier reviews
Federal Subawards (FFATA) API
USAspending · FFATA
Every FFATA Section 2 report: who paid whom under each prime contract. Map any prime's supply chain, see the real federal revenue of small businesses (sub income is often the larger half), trace prime-to-sub flow per contract. Coverage today: FY2025 + FY2026 (October 2024 onward) from USAspending, refreshed daily.
What you can do with it
- Supply-chain maps for any prime contractor (subs paid, top counterparties, dollar flow)
- True-revenue picture for SMBs (combined prime + sub revenue, with concentration ratio)
- Set-aside flow-down compliance reviews (where did the small-business set-aside dollars actually go?)
- Compliance smoking-gun screens: surface excluded entities that are still receiving sub payments
- M&A diligence on a target's customer concentration and counterparty risk
Plus inline enrichment across related products
Beyond the dedicated subaward endpoints, Pro folds subaward and prime-contract context directly into the company, entity, contract, vendor-risk, and exclusions lookups, so a single call to any of those already shows a firm's subcontracting flow and whether an excluded entity is still being paid, with no second request. Non-Pro keys simply don't see the extra context.
Teaming Partner Finder API
USAspending FPDS · SAM entities
Find federal contractors with proven past performance for a NAICS, agency, state, or set-aside, ranked by gross obligated dollars, each with its socioeconomic status, SAM registration, and named points of contact. Composed from prime contract awards plus the SAM registry. The only contractor endpoint that filters by awarding agency and returns contacts. Factual, not scored.
What you can do with it
- Build a teaming shortlist: who has actually won this kind of work, for this agency, in this state
- Source subcontractors for a prime bid, ranked by relevant past performance
- Get the named points of contact at each firm to start the conversation
- Research counterparties and competitors by their real award record under a NAICS or set-aside
Recompete Watchlist API
USAspending FPDS · SAM exclusions · FFATA subawards · SAM notices
Surface the contracts in a market that must recompete in the next 6 to 18 months, while there is still time to influence. Each row carries the bid/no-bid facts: the incumbent, the value, the option runway, whether it was genuinely competed (the offer count shown next to the competition flag), incumbent-stress signals, and named subcontractors. Plus a live feed of sources-sought and pre-solicitation notices with the contracting officer's contact. Factual, not scored.
What you can do with it
- Build a forward pipeline of recompetes across your NAICS and agencies, in the window you can still influence
- Triage bid/no-bid on facts: skip the wired single-bidder "full and open" awards, pursue the genuinely contested ones
- See the incumbent and their named subs: who to unseat, who to team with
- Catch the sources-sought early and reach the contracting office before the RFP drops
Contracting Officers
USAspending FPDS
Resolve the federal buyer below the department, to the specific contracting office. Give it a NAICS and it returns the offices that buy it, ranked, each with its own obligations, average number of offers, single-bidder share, and set-aside share. Then profile one office to see how it buys overall and the NAICS it actually buys. The market-wide average hides how any one office buys: janitorial reads 35% single-bidder market-wide, but by office runs from 0% to 100%. Factual, not scored.
What you can do with it
- Pick the specific office to target for your NAICS, not just the agency
- Read how contested an office is before you commit a capture cycle to it (average offers, single-bidder share)
- Find the offices that actually route your NAICS through small-business set-asides
- Hand the office into Contacts to reach its named contracting officers
Bid Protests
GAO bid-protest docket
The public signal that an award is being challenged. 13,778 protests decided since October 2019, plus the 219 pending right now, each with the protester, the agency, the solicitation number, the filing date, and the date GAO must decide by. Pending cases are the point: a timely protest obliges the agency to suspend performance, so an open protest is a live scheduling fact about a procurement rather than history. Factual, never scored, because a protest is a fact about a procurement and not a judgement about a vendor.
What you can do with it
- Check whether a solicitation you are working is under protest right now, and the soonest it can come unfrozen
- Rank contested awards by which resolve next (
status=Open&sort=due), so a schedule is built on the real date rather than the statutory ceiling - See whether an incumbent's original award was protested, and whether the protest was sustained
- Read an agency's or an office's protest record before you commit a capture cycle to it
- Find whether a competitor protests when they lose, by protester name or full-text search
Read outcomes carefully: GAO's sustain rate was 14% in fiscal 2025 while its effectiveness rate was 52%, because a protest dismissed after the agency takes corrective action is a protester who got what they wanted. The number everyone reads wrong
Procurement Forecasts API
GSA Forecast of Contracting Opportunities · DHS APFS · HHS SBCX
The only forward-looking layer: what agencies plan to buy before any solicitation posts. 12,048 forecast entries from three civilian sources, each with the estimated value, NAICS, timeframe, and a direct point-of-contact. Coverage is civilian and small-business-skewed (no DoD), stated honestly.
What you can do with it
- See planned buys in your NAICS months before they reach SAM.gov
- Reach the listed point-of-contact early, while the requirement is still being shaped
- For resolved recompetes, see who holds the incumbent contract and when it expires
Contract Price Benchmarks API
USAspending FPDS · 9.8M prime awards
What a contract like yours has actually paid, as a percentile range by NAICS, contract pricing type, and set-aside, computed at contract grain from 9.8 million awards. Then a price-position read: pass your own bid value and get its percentile rank within the comparable set, plus the real contracts nearest it, so an 80th-percentile can be judged justified by eye. A price-analysis / market-range read for the Negotiate stage, not a win predictor. Factual, not scored.
What you can do with it
- Benchmark a bid against comparable awards, segmented by pricing type so the number means something
- Scope to a real sub-market with the product/service code, not a whole-industry average
- See exactly where your own number ranks, with the nearest real contracts to sanity-check it
- Replace the multi-day FPDS and USAspending pull-filter-normalize workflow with one call
Labor Rate Benchmarks API
GSA CALC · ~262K awarded ceiling rates
The labor half of should-cost: what a role has actually been awarded per hour on GSA Schedule contracts, as a percentile range by labor category, education, experience, and vendor, from about 262,000 awarded ceiling rates (GSA CALC). It also returns the typical year-over-year escalation and a named competitor's rate card. The should-cost / IGCE labor input for the Negotiate stage, paired with the contract price benchmark. Factual, not scored.
What you can do with it
- Benchmark a labor category as a percentile range, not a single blended average
- Read a named competitor's, or your own, awarded rate card for a role
- Pull a defensible year-over-year escalation for option-year pricing
- Scope a role to your industry (NAICS) through the SIN crosswalk
